Social Sciences and Humanities
Rationale
Social science covers a wide spectrum of interdisciplinary subjects, including economics, management, geography, political science, sociology, psychology, education, history, Islamic Studies, archaeology, anthropology, linguistics, and law. Social Sciences and Humanities support the Second National Development Strategy (NDS-2; 2018-2023). Economic sustainability through infrastructure development, economic diversification, private sector development, management of natural resources, and consolidation of human development can all be achieved through a comprehensive and integrated healthcare system, ensured provision of high-quality education and training, committed and effective manpower, and the development of a healthy social structure by taking care of community protection, security, public safety, cultural enrichment, and sport excellence. Importantly, we also endeavor to achieve economic sustainability that is safe for the environment. Therefore, social sciences and humanities based on human interaction with a wide range of topics are considered vital for finding evidence-based answers about the mechanisms through which Qatar can attain its aims and achieve its objectives.
